AND MIGRATION AND INTERCULTURALITY CONGRESS OF THE CAMPO DE TARRAGONA
Under the motto 'People in Motion', the Department of New Citizenship of Tarragona City Council organizes the first congress on Migrations and Interculturality of Camp de Tarragona. The initiative is born from the need to share knowledge and create relationships between technicians from both the public administration and the third sector, academics, students, associations and citizens in general.
The congress will have an opening conference, "Where are migration policies headed?" by the director general of Migrations, Refuge and Anti-Racism of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Eunice Romero. There will also be several symposia, round tables and workshops where very diverse topics related to the migrant reality will be exposed to discuss different academic perspectives and where you can learn about the specific experiences of specialists in migration, interculturality and anti-racism, where they will generate spaces for reflection and debate.
The congress will have the participation of teachers and experts in legislative matters of foreigners, as well as with political actors, who will present their diagnosis on the current migration situation. Managers and technicians from various institutions, both municipal, regional and national, will also present the role of migration policies within public administration with an emphasis on the local level. Finally, they will also be prominent entities and organizations of the third sector who will explain what their work consists of and how it impacts society.
Beyond the exhibitions, talks and conferences, the XNUMXst Migration Congress wants to make visible the intercultural reality of Camp de Tarragona and the territory, through spaces where cultural, gastronomic and informative dissemination can be made about the various communities and thus create informal spaces of relaxation within the congress and that the participants themselves can relate to the collectives.
These spaces will be distributed in the Diversity Fair, which will welcome groups that want to exhibit intercultural products, from their crafts to their literature, during the congress. Institutions and associations that work on the intercultural issue will also have a place at this fair.
In addition to the diversity fair, there will be a separate space dedicated exclusively to gastronomy. The Gastronomic fair will host culinary establishments of various nationalities located in the city of Tarragona, who will have the opportunity to offer their dishes.
