The V State Congress of the Workers' Union (STR) will be held in Tarragona between October 26 and 28 and will gather around two hundred people from all over the State. The major issues that affect workers in the sectors where the STR is represented will be discussed.

The Workers' Union was created in 2003 in Tarragona to defend the interests of its members. Since then, the STR has grown steadily and currently has more than 5.000 members throughout the State, most of them in the chemical sector, where it has great penetration in the main companies and geographical areas of implementation of this important economic sector. STR is majority in the petrochemical subsector.
