FOUR MODES OF POLE IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP “THE POLE CHALLENGE"
Pole Sport, Ultra Pole, Artistic Pole and Para Pole will meet in the “The Pole Challenge”On 1 and 2 April at the Palau Firal i de Congressos de Tarragona. The qualifiers for the world championship will leave the competition.
Registration closes on March 12 to participate. They currently have the same number of entrants as in 2016 and are expected to far exceed 100 participants. Everyone can compete in various ways. The Pole Challenge is a competition and a spectacle in itself. A speaker will explain to the spectators what each modality consists of and will animate the two days to turn it into an experience in all senses.
The modalities of the Pole
Pole Sport it is a discipline of strength, balance, elasticity and rhythm. A series of exercises on a vertical bar through acrobatic choreography. With a very well defined regulation and a very high level of demand. In this second edition of the championship in Tarragona there will also be representation of the modality For Pole.
Ultra Pole it is a one on one mode. Each participant has 30 seconds to prove their superiority over the opponent, 30 seconds for the opponent to respond and 30 seconds more for their reply. Once the interventions are over (called combos) the jury decides. One of the participants is eliminated at the moment, while the winner will compete against the next contestant. A very spectacular type of competition as the participants play everything in a very fast staging and in which they have to catch the attention of the audience and the jury.
The most theatrical and emotional side will be lived with the performances ofArtistic Pole. A modality in which the props and the changes of clothes have capacity. Where a story can be told with the movement.
International Open
Competitors from other countries will also be at the Open to be held during the competition. An opportunity for athletes from countries where there is no Pole Sport federation to compete and qualify for a place in the world championship. Athletes from Switzerland, Belgium, the Czech Republic and possibly other countries are expected to take part in this category. Most of the athletes who compete in the Open do so in the elite category, so a high level of performance is also expected.
High level of competitors
Cristian Fernández, Jordana de Haro, Iryna Vorobyeva, Alba Parra and Carolina Arlandez qualified in 2016 for the World Cup in London. They finally positioned themselves in the world rankings in very good positions (within their categories).

Organization
The National Pole Sport Championship is organized by The Spanish Federation of Pole Sport, Related Disciplines and ANPSFADA (Artmove Studio), which are working to raise awareness of this sport with the aim of turning it into an Olympic sport. A discipline that is gaining a lot of interest among the general public and is growing very rapidly in number of followers and practitioners.
The Finnish Salima Peippo, resident in the countryside of Tarragona, is behind this competition and carries the great weight of his organization. It has the collaboration of Carolina Zoyo, among others, for the tasks prior to the event. The careful organization and good results of 2016 led to The Spanish Pole Sport Federation to repeat his for this 2017.
