Starraco Unlimited can be enjoyed at the Tarragona Trade Fair and Congress Center on 3 and 4 July 2021 from 10 am to 20 pm
This morning the 4th edition of Starraco Unlimited was presented by Ivan Carrasco, content manager and director of Starraco Unlimited, Jordi Dies, manager of the Palau Firal i de Congressos de Tarragona, and M José López, president of the 'EMDET and Councilor for Commerce of Tarragona City Council.
Starraco Unlimited is represented by the fictional character SU, a superheroine created as an icon of the event that encourages all fans of the phenomenon of science fiction and fantasy to find a space for expression and fun.
On the 3rd and 4th of July there will be an event that includes many different activities located in the two buildings of the Palau Firal i de Congressos de Tarragona. Exhibitions, talks, musical performances, fantastic characters, shop area, tattoo space, artists, workshops, demonstrations, video games, lightsabers, food truck area… An explosive mix that concentrates in a large space everything related to the science fiction and fantasy for fandom lovers.
During the press conference, Ivan Carrasco emphasized that “despite the current situation, we wanted to take the risk to offer the public a magical weekend, full of surprises, activities and content. geeks, which helps them stay away from COVID-2 for 19 days. Of course, without forgetting the security of everyone. "
The highlight of this edition is the programming of activities dedicated to the world of Harry Potter. Starraco Unlimited has the collaboration of BCN Witch Market with whom they have managed to program a magical 450m2 market with stands, craftsmen, photocalls and cosplay contests, among others. An exhibition of magical creatures from different sculptors and talks with actors and actresses: Laura pastor (voice of Hermione, Sabrina, Lady Bug and many more), Jose Luis Angulo (voice of Voldemort and Michael Knight, among many others) and Masumi Mutsuda (voice of Harry Potter and Kylo Ren in Catalan).
We will also find an exhibition of magical creatures from different sculptors.
The documentary will also be screened during the event “Patronus Project: the magic of a generation", directed by Fernando Vidali Beatriz m. Start, the book “Potter Generation: A journey through the magical world and its fan community”, Written by Saida Herrero i Beatriz m. Arranz and we will have the podcastPatronus Unplugged”, Directed by Beatriz, Fernando, Saida and Pablo Begué, who will not be able to attend).
In one of the floors of the Congress Palace you can visit an exhibition of Transfromers, a collection of figures from all eras, from the release of this franchise to the present, provided by the Transformers Spain Community.
Dioramas ofStar Wars, Transformers i Dragon Ball, of which different figures will also be exhibited.
Throne Games will also be present at Starraco Unlimited with a photocall where visitors can be photographed which includes an exact replica of the Iron Thunder. The actor Sergio Garrido de la Torre, who participated in the series in the role of Dothraki will give a talk to attendees.
Now area workshops we will find activities for the little ones with pintacares, crafts, legos and many more activities for fun.
THEArtist Alley will be located on the -1 floor of the Palacio de Congresos where we will find different graphic artists and craftsmen who will show their latest works. In this edition continues to present the tattoo parlor area that have individual dressing rooms to carry out the orders with all the necessary measures anti COVID-19.
To end the tour inside the facilities of the Palacio de Congresos we will find the space dedicated to the magic market and Harry Potter together with the softcombat spaces, ludosport (light sword fighting), zone of role-playing games and board games, and an area of Masters of the Universe. In this last space, the World Masters of the Universe Association will offer different activities around this saga: exhibitions, talks, chapter passes and some surprise visits, which we will not reveal until it is confirmed.
La Tortosina Marta Lamote who will present “La bondad del Villano”, a talk that will bring us closer to the reality of the bad guys in movies, comics, novels, etc.
The space of the fairgrounds, in front of the RENFE station
This space will have a merchandising area, where there will be shops with all kinds of products, from vintage to the latest products on the market. Toys, comics, t-shirts… The charity area, where nine associations will set up a stand to make their goals known.
Below we will find the photocalls area of science fiction and fantasy associations, with real characters with whom the public can be photographed. This year, different sagas will be performed Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who, Alien, Predator, Marvel and DC, Warhammer and a surprise vehicle from one of cinema’s most iconic film sagas. There will be raffles and charity raffles in this same space.
A stage will be used to carry out different types of competitions, as well as the performance of the pianist Victor Mame (Dr. Prats pianist, youtuber, instagramer, etc.), who will bring us a wide repertoire of soundtracks from science fiction and fantasy series, movies and video games.
La catering area will be located outside the fairgrounds, Outdoor, where visitors can taste the wide range of dishes offered by the food trucks who will participate in this edition of Starraco Unlimited.
The tickets
Advance purchase is recommended to ensure access as capacity is limited to 50%. Tickets are now on sale through the platform traplo.com. Tickets can be purchased for Saturday 3rd or Sunday 4th July at a price of € 10 / adult, € 6 child (from 8 to 16 years old), and free for children under 7 years old. The facilities will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 20 p.m.
Previous activities
On June 12, 13, 18 and 19 Starraco Unlimited will be visible in the city of Tarragona. Through this association, the Ministry of Commerce of Tarragona City Council has devised a campaign to liven up different areas of the city under the motto We are Dynamic. The campaign consists of 10 activities located in different parts of the center and neighborhoods of Tarragona where you can see parades of characters and sports exhibitions related to the world of science fiction and fantasy. Quidditch, softcombat, laser sword fighting, Star Wars, Warhammer and superhero characters.
A safe space
The Palau Firal i de Congressos de Tarragona has the Safe Tourisme Certified seal in the MICE category. A guarantee that the prevention measures against VOCID19 are carried out correctly. For Starraco Unlimited has prepared its own contingency plan that includes temperature control, hydrogel dispensers, mandatory use of mask, one-way circuit, ventilation through the renewal of outside air, frequent cleaning of spaces, access control and a capacity limited to 50%.
Antecedents
La last edition was held in February 2020 just before the pandemic and was a great success with both attendees and content. Up to 7.000 visitors they went through Starraco Unlimited.
The event was born in 2017 dedicated exclusively to the Star Wars saga, under the name of Starraco Wars. Already in the first edition it was very well received by the public. The second edition, in 2018, was also dedicated exclusively to the galactic saga, and the 2020, already under the direction of Ivan Carrasco, took a turn to introduce new content related to science fiction and fantasy. The result was spectacular, making Starraco Unlimited a landmark in the territory.
Starraco Unlimited is a co-organized event at the Convention Center with the Starraco Unlimited Association.
