THE FAIR ENCLOSURE IS USED AS A SPACE FOR PEOPLE WITHOUT A ROOF

The town hall enables the space of the fairgrounds of the Palau de Congressos de Tarragona to house homeless people. This measure will ensure their accommodation and care in the context of the alarm phase of COVID19. The space will be available for a maximum of 50 people, a capacity that will guarantee the basic rules of safety and hygiene.

The municipal equipment will have showers, toilets and heating. The measure also includes offering dinner and breakfast to people who use the facilities. These meals are prepared by Youth and Life of Bonavista, while the Creu Roja will ensure proper transport conditions so as not to break the cold chain.

The humanitarian organization of the Creu Roja, is the institution in charge of the direct attention of the people lodged in the fairgrounds and will guarantee the application of the protocols established by this type of confinement in a strict way in order to avoid contagions.

The Palau Firal i de Congressos de Tarragona had already collaborated with the Red Cross during the first confinement providing material to equip other facilities as a shelter for the homeless.
