The façade of the Palau Firal i de Congressos de Tarragona becomes the setting for one of the tests of the Viking Raid Tarragona.

Participants climb one of the façades of the Palacio de Congresos and descend abruptly from the top of the elevator tower.

VIKING RAID 5
The adventure raid, Viking Raid Tarragona, is, at the same time, an event to promote Tarragona as a quality tourist destination and active holiday. The Nordics fought among themselves in Tarragona and Montsant for five days in order to be proclaimed "Scandinavian Vikings".

Vikings from Denmark and Norway will fight for the title of “Vikings of Skandinavia” during five stages of the adventure raid, Viking Raid Tarragona, from 2 to 6 May 2016. The adventure raid, organized by the Danish association AR Sport in collaboration with Tarragona.dk, is both an event to promote Tarragona as a quality tourist destination and active holiday.

The upcoming Vikings are strong and the multi-sport race is not for everyone. In fact, the organizer of the raid, the Dane Nils Gisli, who has lived in Tarragona city for a couple of years, says with a laugh that adventure raid runners usually eat triathletes and ironman before each test.

Indeed, they will sweat and be five very hard days of an average of ten hours of running a day in disciplines such as rappelling, trail running, mountain biking, via ferrata, kayaking, swimming, caving, padlesurfing and orienteering races… all in one day , of course, and over time as his worst enemy. The fastest team in all five days will take the title "Vikings of Skandinavia".

These are the landscapes of the Tarragona region and their possibilities that have inspired Nils Gisli to promote the lands of Tarragona in Scandinavia, lands unknown to Nordic travelers.

The organizer, Nils Gisli, has successfully involved some local companies to carry out the Tarragona.dk project and therefore also the Viking Raid Tarragona. It is thanks to them and the ten volunteers who travel from Denmark to help with the development of the raid during the five days, that the Viking Raid Tarragona can take place. "It's about making pineapple in a city like Tarragona", says Gisli happy about all the help received from local associations and companies.VIKING RAID 1
