The facebook page Star Wars Spain Awards has nominated the Starraco Wars event as a nominee for the best event of 2017. His nomination is a great success as it is a first edition without precedent. The page has opened 18 categories of awards that can be voted until January 21.

From the first moment the event was announced in Tarragona, the organizers found a positive response. The general public and real fans reacted to what is to become an annual meeting at the Palau Firal i de Congressos de Tarragona.
Success at the 1st Starraco Wars Convention
The first edition was held on December 2 and 3, 2017. Starraco Wars was a great success for the city of Tarragona. In two days, more than 4.000 people followed the galactic saga. The Exhibition and Congress Center filled the more than 10.000m2 with activities, drone races, workshops, exhibitions, conferences, product sales spaces and many Star Wars characters.
One of the scheduled activities that generated the most anticipation was the parade through the city of more than 100 characters characterized by the saga that culminated in the facilities of the Palau Firal i de Congressos de Tarragona. Among the different characters we could see the most famous as Chewbacca, Lord Darth Vader, C-3PO, R2-D2, Princess Leia and the StormTroopers. There were also many others highly valued by the most passionate fans.

During the convention, attendees were able to be photographed with the characters. There was even a fun set design that simulated a giant box of Star Wars toys. In it, attendees could take a life-size photograph of Chewbacca as if it were a toy.
Another attraction of Starraco Wars was the giant figure of a Rankor seven meters long by four meters high in the entrance hall of the Palau Firal i de Congressos de Tarragona.
The 2nd Starraco Wars Convention is over
The event will be repeated on December 1 and 2, 2018. From now on, the organizers have a few months to evaluate the activities they liked best and provide news to consolidate the victory. For the next edition the charitable will will be maintained of the event although the beneficiary associations for these 2018 have not yet been chosen.
The organizers
The Starraco Wars Convention was born from the Star Wars Association of the Terres de l'Ebre R2-T4. The initiative is co-organized by the Palau Firal i de Congressos de Tarragona, which it considers a very attractive activity for the city. The collaboration of the nonprofit organization Star Props, dedicated to exhibitions and events especially in the Star Wars universe, should also be considered.
